The story of Nagaram Nidra Potunna Vela is about a young and daring journalist, Niharika (Charmi) who decides to bring all the gangsters and culprits of the city to justice. And what better time to get all the hoods together than night, thus she names her dare as ‘Nagaram Nidra Potunna Vela’ and sets out at night with a hidden pen camera.

Through her lens comes crooked cops, prostitutes, drunkards and many other shady parts of the city. Another lousy whom she meets that night is Siva Ram Prasad (Jagapathi Babu). However trouble was leaking in the dark for her.

She covers a politicians plan to create mayhem and bloodshed in the city to become CM. The gangs of the political leader set after her while Siva Ram Prasad comes to her rescue. The events that follow are both thrilling as well as entertaining.
